Pearl Elaine
Kacprowicz
January 7, 1929 – April 9, 2026
While we are sad to share the passing of Pearl Elaine Kacprowicz on April 9, 2026, at the age of 97, we are joyful for her journey ahead. She was born on January 7, 1929, in Aitkin, MN, to Arland Stine and Julia (Wiederholt) Stine. Pearl led a remarkable life filled with love, laughter, and devotion to her family.
On January 21, 1950, she married Adam Kacprowicz—her lifelong polka partner. Pearl was a dedicated homemaker and found her greatest joy in caring for her home and raising her beloved children. She is survived by her five daughters: Rosalie (Mark) Day of South Bend, IN; Margaret Colgan of Auburn, IN; Patricia (Steven) Danalds of Springfield, MO; Darlene (William) Jacobs of Marion, IN; and Dianna (Jeffrey) Danalds of Corunna, IN. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Sharon Kacprowicz of Fort Wayne, IN; her sister, Arlene Kiefer of Warsaw, IN; too many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren to list (but not too many to love) and her good friend Mary Beth Tippmann.
Pearl was preceded in death by her husband, Adam Kacprowicz; her son, Michael Kacprowicz; her son-in-law, Floyd Colgan; her sister, Lorrelle Smith; her brothers, Robert, Earl, Clifford, Donald, and Llewellen Stine; and her grandchildren, Victoria Kacprowicz and Tyler & Elizabeth Danalds.
Pearl was a joy to be around and was always laughing—so much so that one of her grandchildren affectionately dubbed her “Funny Grandma,” a name that stuck for the rest of her life. She was a steady rock for her children and grandchildren, always making her family a priority. She was an incredibly resilient soul; even through difficult times, she maintained her strong faith and optimistic outlook, serving as a constant light for those around her. She had a rare gift for making people feel better than when they arrived, and her radiant impact will be long remembered. Pearl was everyone’s sunshine. She will be sorely missed by her family and all of her friends at Saint Anne’s.
