Rachel Michelle Ling, BSN, RN, 47, of Fort Wayne, passed peacefully on February 26, 2025, after a brief battle with ALS. She was surrounded by her family, and her puppy Peaches by her side.

Rachel lived the majority of her life in Ft Wayne, and attended Malone University in Ohio, as well as Northern Kentucky University, and Ball State University, receiving her Bachelor of Science degree (Cum Laude) in Nursing, and specializing in Organic Chemistry. While at Ball State, she was a research intern with the Health Sciences Dept, taught other nursing students chemistry, and was an award-winning published author. Her greatest joy and gift to others was teaching and educating through work and school.

More than science, Rachel loved her family, decorating the house during every holiday, and being the first to post a rabbit picture on Facebook the first of every month. She loved taking vacations and having holidays with her family, cruising in her convertible, and recently took trips to Europe with Ben, as well as Hawaii, New York and Orlando with her best friends Matt, Tina, Tabetha and Mason.

Rachel leaves behind her husband Ben Kapp of Ft Wayne; parents Jeff and Victoria (Coupland) Ling, also of Ft Wayne; grandma, Phoebe Coupland, formerly of Lancaster, PA; brother Aaron (Karen) Ling of Buford, GA; children, Ally Judt of Ft Wayne, Madeleine (Alex Snyder) Judt of Milford, DE, and Nathan Judt, of Ft Wayne; as well as several uncles and aunts, cousins; and nephew Asher; and niece Everly Ling.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Avenue, Ft Wayne with calling two hours prior. Memorials to Stillwater Hospice of Ft Wayne, or to the ALS Association. Condolences can be left at www.divinemercyfuneralhome.com.
