Bussard
September 9, 1947 – January 22, 2025
Marion Rex Bussard, 77, of New Haven, died Wednesday January 22, 2025 at Parkview Randallia Hospital. Rex was born in Peru IN on September 9, 1947, the son of the late John J. Bussard and Jean E. (Arthur) Bussard.
Rex served his country with honor in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He retired as a tanker truck driver for Gladieux Refinery in 2013 after many years with the company. He was a member of the American Legion Post #36 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Rex was an avid sports fan, who followed the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears and IU Basketball with enthusiasm. He was a PAL football coach for 16 years and also coached baseball, having had the opportunity to coach some of his grandsons as well.
Rex is survived by his wife, Susie Bussard; son, Kevin (Angie) Bussard of Angola; grandchildren, Kendall Bussard of New Haven, Carson (Mady) Bussard of Churubusco, Landen Bussard and Madilyn Bussard, both of Angola; great-grandchildren, Malina, Oaklyn, Berkley and Huckson Bussard; brothers, David (Denise) Bussard of Akron, Bob (Sharon) Bussard of North Liberty, Greg Bussard of Warsaw, Chuck (Bridget) Bussard of Silver Lake; sisters, Sue Bussard of Akron, Jane Clark of New Haven, Bernice "Sis" Strong of Akron, brothers & sisters-in-law, Gary and Yvonne Wills of Monroeville, Mike and Sue Wills of Hoagland, and several nieces & nephews, including his special nephew, Nate Clark of New Haven.
In addition to his parents, Rex was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, John Bussard and Jim Bussard.
A Celebration of Rex' Life will be held on Tuesday February 4, 2025, at First Baptist Church of New Haven, 1716 Werling Rd, New Haven, IN 46774, beginning with Military Honors rendered at 12:30pm, followed by a reception of family & friends from 1-3:30pm in the church.
