Richard "Dick" Charles Bohde Jr., 81, of Columbia City, Indiana entered into heaven on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born on February 13, 1943, he was the second of eight children born to the late Richard C. Bohde Sr. and Tharon Oleatha (Gatchell) Bohde. Richard graduated from Central High School, General Electric Apprentice School, and Purdue University. Richard was a kind, gentle man who would do anything for anyone. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching NASCAR, Komets Hockey and spending time with his family. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 60 years, Linda (Platter) Bohde. Children: Richard Charles lll. (Karen), Dawn Marie Durnell (Scott), Matthew Taylor (Dawn), and Jason Adam (Natalie). He loved being Poppy to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Jerry, Thomas, James, Randy and Kevin; and grandson Joshua William. His brother Timothy and sister Michelle Dickerson also survive.
