Richard “Rick” Stephen Barrand, age 75, of Fort Wayne, IN passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 13, 2026. Born on November 9, 1950, he was the son of the late Lindy Barrand and Frances (Toussaint) Denson. Rick was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, class of 1969. He was a well-known blues harmonica player, playing for over 60 years both locally and across the country. Rick also worked for all the local Fort Wayne sports franchises including the Komets, Wizards, Tin Caps, Mad Ants, and Fury. When he was not working, he enjoyed relaxing and listening to music.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 44 years, Robin Barrand; daughters, Jessica Taylor and Delaney Hutchings; grandchildren, Dominic, Calista, and Jasmine Hutchings; and sister, Denise (Pete) Spangler. Rick was preceded in death by his parents; and infant brother, Ronald Denson.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN 46805 with visitation for friends and family from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Burial will be at Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
