It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Matthew Pequignot, age 72, who left us peacefully surrounded by his family on November 29, 2025, in his hometown of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Born on May 8, 1953, to Robert W. and Eleanor F. (Bailey) Pequignot. Bob dedicated much of his life to serving others as a flight nurse at Parkview Hospital. His compassion and commitment to his patients were evident in everything he did.
Bob was a devoted father to his four children: Craig M. (Sarah) Pequignot, Josh M. Pequignot, Andrew R. Pequignot, and Erin E. (Coty) Shirk He is also survived by his grandchildren, Emma, Ali, Eli, Isabella, and Noah, and his siblings, Mary (Joe Hoffman) Burns, Aimee (Doug) Davis, Julie Pequignot, Sara Pequignot, and Janice (Curt Clapper) Pequignot. He found joy in his family and was proud of each of their accomplishments. His legacy will live on through them. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Bob was an active member at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and donated much of his time to Christ Renews His Parish. He spent many weekends over the last years cooking for Christ Renews His Parish.
Bob's life will be celebrated with a gathering of family and friends. A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1502 E. Wallen Rd., Fort Wayne, IN at 12:00 noon on Saturday, December 13, 2025. There will be a visitation for one hour prior to the Mass. Niche placement will follow at St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages everyone to remember Bob's generous spirit by considering a donation to a local charity of your choice or to his grandchildren's college education. He would have loved that.
