Wyss, Sr.
June 22, 1933 – April 21, 2025
Robert H. Wyss, Sr. passed away on Monday, April 21, 2025, in Fort Wayne, IN. Bob was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, International Business College, and served in the US Army. He was a member of Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. He was the Director of Materials at Magnavox, he retired in 1989 after 32 years of service and served as treasurer of Magnavox Management Club and a member of the Quarter Century Club. Bob was a board member of Fort Wayne Zoning Appeals and 3 Rivers Festival. He was also a Leadership Fort Wayne 1986 Alumni and served on the Board. In 1990, he was Lutheran Social Services Volunteer of the Year. Being a landlord since 1957, he was a member of Northeast Indiana Apartment Association for many years. Surviving is his wife, Barbara, and children; Beth (Terry) Keenan, Kathy Stone, Robert Wyss, Jr., Jennifer (CJ) Steigmeyer, and Michael (Jessica) Wyss, stepchildren; Jon (Julie) Stratton and Jule (Carl) Calloway, grandchildren; Nick, Zach, Alex, Evan, Tim. Harrison, Joe, Phillip, Carson, Carolyn, Peter, and Anna, great-grandchildren; Avery and Lillian, step grandchildren; Chris, Amanda, Michelle, and Seth. Also surviving are sisters, Mary Houser, Rosie O'Keefe, and Marg (Steve) Knouff. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Edward and Gertrude (Reilly) Wyss, stepmother, Hester (Barkley) Wyss, brother, James Wyss and his wife, Carolyn (Roskuski) Wyss, brothers-in-law, Jerry O'Keefe and Robert Houser.
Services for Robert Wyss include a visitation on Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 3-7:OOpm held at Divine Mercy Funeral Home-Cedar Canyons, 1986 W. Cedar Canyons Rd., Huntertown, where the Rosary will be prayed at 2:30pm. The Mass will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 11:00am, at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1502 E. Wallen Rd., Fort Wayne, where there will be a visitation for one hour prior. Burial will follow at Catholic Cemetery in Fort Wayne.
Memorial contributions may be made to Masses, Saint Mary's Soup Kitchen, or the donor's choice. Online condolences may be left at www.divinemercyfuneralhome.com.
