It is with heavy hearts that we announce, Roberta Fawn Barnhouse, age 65, has been called to be with her husband and daughter. Roberta was born on November 28, 1961, in Des Moines, IA, and spent her life surrounded by family and friends who will miss her dearly.

She was married to William Harold Barnhouse on February 9, 1979.

Roberta was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She is survived by her sons, Shawn J. (Rebecca) Thomson and Stephen W. Barnhouse, as well as her grandchildren: Jasmine, Cameron, Elizabeth, Zachary, Calvin, and Simon. She also is survived by her adopted parents, Jim and Lois Thomson and biological mother, Karen Sheilds; siblings, Montey and Donald Seager, Pam, Steve and Carlton Thomson, as well as several nieces and nephews, Her warmth and kindness touched everyone she met, and her legacy will carry on through her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband and daughter, Melissa Fawn Barnhouse Veldman.

We invite all who knew and loved Roberta to join us in celebrating her life. A public visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne, IN, 46805, with a funeral service taking place at 2:00 PM.
