Ronald Dale Coats, age 72, of Wolcottville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2026, due to natural causes. He was born on November 3, 1953, in Colusa, California, to Russell Andrew Coats and Hazel Irene (Wells) Coats. Ron was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, dedicated worker, and a respected member of his community.

Ron was a man of deep compassion and commitment, spending his career working for Slater Steel, D&N building pediatric wheelchairs, Panoramic building panoramic dental x-ray machines and lastly working within the charitable sector with Easter Seals. His contributions not only advanced the organization's mission but also touched the lives of many individuals and families. He enjoyed working on cars, tinkering with his hands, camping, fishing, and traveling. He was an avid bird watcher and loved dogs, especially Australian Shepherds.

He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Catherine Myers-Coats, who stood by his side through the years. Together, they created a warm and loving home that was a haven for family that includes his children: Jamie Coats, Shannon (Jeremy) Moses, Brent Troxell, and grandchildren: Allie, Jacob, Amanda, Kirsten, Elizabeth, Brian, Bella, and Parker, and a host of great-grandchildren. He is also survived by siblings: Andrew (Yune) Coats, Joseph (Becky) Coats and a host of nieces and nephews.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Michael Coats.

Ron will be profoundly missed by all who knew him, remembered for his kind spirit, gentle heart, and unwavering dedication to helping others. Contributions in his name may be made to the Cancer Society for Pancreatic Cancer and to Easter Seals to continue his legacy of service.
