Ronald T. Plazek, 92, of Fort Wayne, IN passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2026. Born on December 7, 1933, he was the son of the late Edward and Florence (Marlett) Plazek. Ron honorably served his country in the United States Army. On May 4, 1963, he married the love of his life, Patricia (Bell). Together, they shared 58 wonderful years until Patricia’s passing in 2022. Ron worked for the railroad for 33 years until his retirement in 1988.

When not working, he enjoyed playing golf and watching IU sports. He also enjoyed playing cards and was always up to playing in weekly games. Ron loved being a grandpa and treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Paul H. (Kim Binder) Plazek; granddaughters, Tara (Ethan) Held and Tess (Cameron) Kastner; and great-grandchildren, Ryan and Reagan Held. Ron was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Plazek; and his parents.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 21, 2026, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN 46805 with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be held from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at Divine Mercy. Burial will be at Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
