Ronald “Louis” Lynn Snyder, age 83, of New Haven, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2026, in his home. He was a 1960 graduate of Clear Creek High School and served in the United States Navy reserves. He was employed by BF Goodrich, retiring in 1995 with thirty-two years of service. Louis was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in New Haven and a supporter of their athletic department. He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Green Bay Packers and enjoyed fishing at the lake. He enjoyed watching all sports, especially bowling and auto racing, but mostly enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Louie Snyder was born on October 12, 1942, in Zanesville, Indiana, the son of Ralph William and Mary Martha (Shaffer) Snyder. He married Sharon Cochran on July 3, 1965, and she survives.
Also surviving are daughter, Jennifer Garcia, of Fort Wayne; four sons, Jeffrey Snyder, Matthew (Heidi) Snyder, and Kevin (Caren) Snyder, all of Fort Wayne, and Michael (Kelly) Snyder, of New Haven; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Lou Snyder, of Huntington, and Joan (Jim) Abbott, of Roanoke; and brother, Steve (Pam) Snyder, of Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by daughter, Denise Snyder; son-in-law, Armando Garcia; sister, Carol Irick; and three brothers, Bill, Ron and Dan Snyder.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026, from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne. Recitation of the rosary will be at 3:30 P.M. in the funeral home prior to visitation.
Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4916 Trier Road, Fort Wayne. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 9:30 A.M.
Interment will be in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, New Haven, Indiana.
Memorials are requested to St. John’s Catholic Church or St. John’s Catholic School in New Haven.
