Ruth Ann (Zimmerman) Hamilton of Fort Wayne, was born June 12, 1938 in Adams County, Indiana, to Richard and Irene (Rich) Zimmerman. She met the love of her life, Tom, in college. They were married 64 years before his death in 2021. Ruth loved teaching math. From teaching math at St. Francis and IPFW to teaching her great-grandkids via zoom calls, she loved it all. She also loved sewing and was an accomplished seamstress, creating many pieces of clothing without the help of a pattern- even a granddaughter's wedding dress! She was devoted to her husband and family and God. She loved to serve people by feeding them. She would never let you leave her house hungry! Her Christmas cookie baking events will remain legendary! She is survived by her son Robert (Joan) Hamilton, her daughter Pat Funnell (Byron), grandchildren Jacob Surber (Kimling Lam), Shannon Jenks (Aaron), Amanda Schwind (Michael), Caitlin Spaulding (Ethan), 8 great-grandkids and her "adopted" Spenst grandkids. Also surviving her are her siblings Carolyn Baker (Carl), Nancy Zimmerman, Jerry Zimmerman (Sandy) and Wanda Zimmerman and a nephew, many nieces and great and great-great nieces and nephews. Services 2:00pm Saturday May 30, 2026, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave. with visitation on Saturday from 12-2pm.
