Sandra "Sandy" Grace (Martin) Speith, age 78, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2024, in New Haven, IN at home, surrounded by family. Sandy was born on May 10, 1946, and dedicated much of her life to her community and faith.
Sandy graduated from Monroeville High School in 1964. She became a vital part of St. Andrew's Catholic Church and of Three Rivers Federal Credit Union from where she retired. A devout parishioner, she worshiped at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in New Haven, IN, where her faith was a cornerstone of her life.
Sandy was known for her strong faith and loving nature as a mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her hobbies included square dancing, playing cards, puzzles, spending time with family, crochet, word searches, and coloring books, all of which brought her great joy and allowed her to share wonderful moments with her loved ones.
Sandy is survived by her daughters, Lynne (Josh Jackemeyer) Speith, Stacey Speith, and Jeni (Bryan) Heckman, all of New Haven, IN; grandchildren, Brandon (Jacquelyn) Speith of Casselberry, FL, Justin (Morgan) Heckman of Ft. Wayne, IN, Megan Heckman, and Mark Speith, both of New Haven, IN; and great-grandchildren Ava, Max, and Brooks. Sandy was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, David Speith Sr.; son, David "Davey" Speith Jr.; her parents Arletta and Norbert Martin; brother Gerald Martin; sister, Dorothy Fleckinstein; and great-granddaughter, Winifred Jeanne Heckman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 943 Powers Street, New Haven, IN 46774 with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will also be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 21, 2024, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN 46805 with a Rosary beginning at 3:30 p.m. Burial will be at Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne following the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Services of NE Indiana (www.cancer-services.org) or to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Haven for Mass Intentions in Sandy's name, honoring her commitment to her faith and helping others.
