Sandra K. Hirschy, age 74, of Decatur, IN passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.  Born on December 28, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Bill and Millie (Blythe) Baker.  Sandy mainly was a homemaker, always taking care of her family, but she also worked at her family's business, Baker and Sons Plumbing, and as a hairdresser.  She married the love of her life, Ron Hirschy, in 1972. Together they spent 54 years building their life in Decatur and watching their family grow.

When not working, Sandy enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a diehard Chicago Cubs fan. She also loved admiring her fruit trees and farm animals.  She had a passion for canning and looked forward to the summer bounty from her trees and garden. Sandy also loved the snow in winter and spending time outdoors.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Ron; son, Scott (Gina) Hirschy of Angola; daughters, Amanda Alburtson and Abigail Mclaughlin both of Decatur; 8 grandchildren, Isaac, Emma, Joel, Alex, Luke, Blake, Beau, and Oliver; brothers, Denny (Susie) Baker and Greg (Ann) Baker; and sister-in-law, Mary Baker.  Sandy was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Samuel Hirschy; infant daughter, Jodi Hirschy; and brother Mike Baker.

Per Sandy's wishes, only private services will be held at this time.  Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Decatur. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be written to St. Joseph Catholic School, Decatur, Indiana in her name.
