Scott F. Feiertag, of Fort Wayne, died May 3, 2019 at Visiting Nurse/Hospice Home Northeast. He was 62.
Scott was born June 12, 1956 in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada to Marie Marceau. He was adopted by the Feiertag family and brought to the United States in 1958.
He attended Bishop Luers High School.
He was employed in the construction industry, which included work as a carpenter for Newport Construction, and later, Richter Construction. He retired from LIUNA Local 213 in 2017.
Scott was an avid outdoorsman all his life and participated in hunting, fishing, camping, snowmobiling and motorcycling. He also enjoyed Cubs baseball, auto racing, music (especially Pavarotti operas), and spending time with loved ones and friends.
One of the great surprises of his life was being reunited with his birth mother in Canada and discovering he was part of a large, close-knit family that had searched for him for many years.
Scott recently married his longtime companion, Diane L. Dager, who survives.
He is also survived by a brother, Gregg (Paula) Feiertag; two half-sisters, Marlene Fecteau and Sylvie Roussin of Quebec, Canada; six step-siblings from his birth family; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph W. and Margaret M. Feiertag; his birth mother and her husband, Marie and Benoit Girard; three step-siblings from his birth family in Canada; and his two “little buddies,” Bug and Buster.
Private graveside services were held in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne, IN.
Memorials to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Haven, IN, for Masses.
