Sheila Marie Chester, age 49, of Fort Wayne, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, May 9, 2026. She was a graduate of Northrup high school and had previously worked in hospitality with hotel management. Sheila enjoyed fishing and loved cats.

Sheila was born on January 14, 1977, in Fort Wayne, the daughter of Joseph A. and Darlene (Millberg) Troendly. She married David B. Chester on January 13, 2012, in Fort Wayne and he survives.

Surviving in addition to her husband, David, are one son, Nicholas Becktel, of Convoy, Ohio; her mother, Darlene (Leo) Banks, of Fort Wayne; one step son Alex Chester, of Yoder, Indiana; a step sister, Malinda Tottleben, of Collinsville, Illinois; and two step brothers, Christian and Robert Backs, both of Fort Wayne. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph A. Troendly and one brother, Tony Troendly.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026, from 10:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46805.

Services will follow at 12:00 P.M. at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne.

Interment will be in Catholic Cemetery.
