Shirley M. Guevara, 87, of Fort Wayne, passed away at Parkview Regional Medical Center, April 14, 2024. Shirley was born October 7, 1936, to the late William and Bernadette (Thieke) Sterling, Sr. Shirley graduated from Central Catholic High School Class of 1954. She was a charter member of Our Lady of Good Hope. She loved to collect Hallmark Christmas ornaments. Shirley was passionate about crafts, reading, baking and decorating for the holidays with her children. Shirley is survived by a daughter, Joan Guevara; sons, Edward and Charles Guevara all of Fort Wayne; one brother Norbert Sterling, Huntington, IN. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Ernest "Ernie" Guevara; a daughter, Alice Guevara, sister Josephine Jess; brother William Sterling, Jr. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at Our Lady of Good Hope, 7215 St Joe Rd with calling one hour prior. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 23, 2014, from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne with the Rosary recited at 3:30pm. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorial contributions may be made to: Masses or St. Mary's Soup Kitchen.
