Sue A. (Friend) Widenhoefer, 74, of Fort Wayne, passed away peacefully on Tuesday November 3, 2026 at home, surrounded by her loving husband, children and family. She was born on July 25, 1952 in Antwerp OH, the daughter of the late Robert G. and Betty E. (Hipple) Friend.

Sue cherished the simple joys of life, especially quilting with her friends, traveling with her husband, and spending precious time with her grandchildren. Her warmth, love, and devotion to her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Gary Widenhoefer, and by her sons, Matt (Tricia), Brian (Amanda), Jared (Michelle), and eight grandchildren, Grant, Ashton, Graham, Ethan, Reagan, Grace, Kendal and Oliver. Sue is also survived by her siblings, Eve Connet, Larry Friend, and Nancy Friend-Schnurpel.

Sue will be lovingly remembered for her kind heart, her devotion to her family & friends, and the many memories she created with those she loved.
