Suzanne A. Wyss, 86, of Fort Wayne, died Sunday January 28, 2024 at Parkview Randallia Hospital. Sue was born in Fort Wayne on April 18, 1937, the daughter of (the late) John P. and Agnes (Bickel) Smith. She graduated from Central Catholic High School with the Class of '55 and on August 25, 1956, Sue married Byron J. Wyss, who preceded her in death on April 11, 2018 after 61 years together.
Sue was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and the Dept. 56 Club of Fort Wayne; she was also a collector. Sue's greatest joy were her family & friends; she also enjoyed gardening and caring for her toy poodle, "Scotty".
Sue is survived by her sons, Chuck (Elaine) Wyss of Fort Wayne, James (Teresa) Wyss of Leo, Joe (Sherry) Wyss of Fort Wayne and Thomas Wyss of Fort Wayne; brother, Jack (Sharon) Smith of Naples FL; sister, Mary Ann Grashoff of Fort Wayne; 8 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren with 2 more "on the way". In addition to her parents and husband Byron, Sue was also preceded in death by a great-grandson, Tyler Wyss.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am Monday, February 5, 2024 in St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4916 Trier Rd. with visitation from 9:30-10:30 in the church. Visitation is also from 1-5pm Sunday at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave. with the Rosary at 1:30pm. Burial in Catholic Cemetery. The family's preferred memorial is St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.
