Thomas (Tommy) B. Eberhard of Ft Wayne unexpectedly passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at the age of 75, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on September 28, 1948, in Fort Wayne, he lived a life full of warmth and dedication to his family.
Tom was known locally for his entrepreneurial spirit. He owned and operated several restaurants throughout his career including Miguel's and El Comedor Mexican Restaurants, est 1994 / 1997. Through his work and passion, Tom touched the lives of friends, neighbors, and family alike.
As a young man, Tom loved and excelled in playing sports. Whether it was crushing the ball in baseball or golf, he had a knack for the game, whatever it might be. His competitive nature transitioned to playing cards throughout the years. He was well known in local circles as an avid Poker player. Through playing cards, Tom fostered many enduring friendships over the years. He left a lasting impact on everyone he met, with his wisdom, kindness, and humor.
Tom is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 50 years, Joan Eberhard. He was a loving father to Ryan (Rhonda) Eberhard, Carrie (Tyler) Ryan, and Amanda (Brad) Bojrab. Tom was also a proud grandfather to 8 grandchildren: Alex, Isaac, Matthew, Gavin, Layla, Alyssa, Mariah, Charli and 2 great-grandchildren: Dominic and Isabela. Tom is survived by his sister Paula Remmert and preceded in death by his parents Maxine and Paul.
Tom always put his family first, and his love and guidance will be forever remembered.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024, from 12:00-5:00 p.m. at 7458 Claypool Xing, 46835.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to Joan Eberhard to help cover funeral expenses and for a Memorial Fund.
