Timothy J. Byers lost his years long battle with the demons of mental illness and addiction on February 25, 2025. Tim was a Fort Wayne native who graduated from the Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics and Humanities. He went on to earn a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Purdue University and worked in several labs around the state.

Tim had a generous spirit and was always willing to help his friends or a stranger in need. Tim loved skateboarding and spending time in nature. He dearly loved his children and his family.

Tim is survived by his father, Timothy A. Byers; mother, Susan Byers; stepfather, Elliott Blumenthal; maternal grandmother, Mary Klinger; paternal grandparents; Barbara Burgin and Jay Byers; siblings, Gabrielle Byers, Becca Tillman (Philip), Joseph Byers, and Emily Byers; and his children, Krisily, Kennedy, and Tobin.

A Celebration of Timothy's Life will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 1 p.m. at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne. The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. until the start of the service at 1 p.m.
