Violet A. Linder, age 90, of Fort Wayne, died Thursday, July 23, 2026, at St. Anne Home and Rehabilitation Center after a brief illness. She was a waitress for Azar’s for twenty years and a devoted homemaker. Violet was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church where she was a member of the rosary sodality and was active in helping with funeral dinners. She enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, gardening and cross stitching.
Violet A. Linder was born on October 28, 1935, in Fort Wayne, the daughter of the late Arthur and Esther (Wyss) Bobay. She married Maurice C. Linder on November 23, 1957, and he preceded her in death on December 17, 2025.
Violet is survived by her children, Dennis (Rita) Linder, of Fort Wayne, Maureen Linder, of Doylestown, Pennsylvania, Ronald Linder, of Fort Wayne, Sandra (Gary) Martindale, of Carmel, and Barbara (Thomas) Richter, of Fort Wayne; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Luella Kleinrichert and Theresa Borden; and a brother, Arthur Bobay.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 27, 2026, from 4-8 P.M. at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave. with the recitation of the rosary at 3:30 P.M. in the funeral home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, in St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4916 Trier Rd, with visitation one hour prior to the service from 9:30-10:30 A.M. in the church.
Interment will be in Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials are requested in the form of memorial masses.
