It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Wayne Allen McClure, who left us peacefully on August 14, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on February 15, 1951, in Fort Wayne, IN, he graduated from Washington Grade School and Central High School.

He lived a life filled with hard work and dedication, having spent many years as a truck driver for Betty Brite and Roadway in the dry-cleaning and delivery industries.

Wayne will be remembered by his family and friends for his kind heart and sense of humor. He loved his family, old friends, his god children, and the pastors and members of Emmanuel Lutheran Church where he was a life-long member. He was an avid fisherman and cook, and he especially enjoyed his cousin Jim’s fish fries.

He is survived by his father Norvin D. McClure, his paternal Aunt Ellen, his maternal Aunt Virginia and Uncle Wayne, his brother Garry D. McClure, and his sister Linda E. Minnick, as well as his cousins, nieces, nephews, and one grandniece. Wayne's legacy lives on in the lives he touched throughout his journey.

He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Ann (Diederich) McClure and brothers, Terry Wayne & Gregory Lynn McClure.

Family and friends will gather at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 917 W. Jefferson Blvd., Fort Wayne, IN, on Saturday, October 3, at 11 am, for a worship service of thanksgiving for his life in Christ and Wayne’s service to others. After the church service, we encourage friends and loved ones to enjoy a lite-luncheon served by members of the congregation – a time to share memories, stories, and laughter as we honor Wayne's life.

Afterwards, loved ones will journey to the Orange Township Cemetery near Rome City to commit Wayne’s ashes to the earth and his spirit to the Lord. Wayne Allen will be greatly missed, but his warmth and laughter will continue to resonate in our hearts.

The family is especially thankful for the doctors and nurses at Parkview Regional and Parkview Randallia Hospitals and for the wonderful personnel at Hospice Care.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations in Wayne’s honor be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
