It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William (Bill) A Thomas, a beloved father, grandfather, husband, veteran, teacher, entrepreneur, and spiritual guide, who departed this world on December 26th, 2023, at the age of eighty-four.
Born in Flint, Michigan, on July 17th, 1939, Bill brought a unique blend of passion and wisdom to every facet of his life. He was a true embodiment of resilience and determination, qualities that he acquired during his service in the United States Air Force. He was honored as a veteran for his military service in July 2023 by the Honor Flight of Northeast Indiana.
Bill was not only a man of the skies during his time in the Air Force, but he also soared as an entrepreneur, displaying an unmatched ambitious spirit that inspired those around him. Bill was a teacher for over 40 years, sharing his knowledge and wisdom with his students. His knowledge, leadership and compassion touched the lives of many and served as a testament to his dedication and hard work.
A devoutly spiritual man, Bill found comfort and strength in his faith and shared his wisdom and guidance with all who sought it, even supporting teens on their spiritual journey. He encouraged everyone to find peace and purpose during life's challenges, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
One of Bill's most cherished passions was his love for airplanes. He marveled at the wonder of flight and instilled in others an appreciation for the limitless possibilities that aviation represented. Another fascination of his was frogs. He found joy in the simple things, like watching a frog leap by a pond, reminding us of all the beauty in nature's creations. Bill held a special place in his heart for his family, and his love for them was unwavering. His laughter and humor created cherished memories that will be forever in our hearts.
Bill's sense of humor was legendary, bringing joy and lightness to even the most challenging of times. His quick wit and infectious laughter were a constant source of happiness for those fortunate enough to share in his company.
William (Bill) Thomas is survived by his loving daughters, Valerie (Steve) Bennett, Ginger Thomas, and Angelique (Matt) Deuitch, along with his grandchildren, Madeline McPhail, Athena Ellenberger, Breanna Stewart, Claire Deuitch, Gavin Deuitch. He is also survived by his loving stepchildren Linda (Joe) Collins and Brian (Julie) Beaty and their children Liam Collins, Bridget Collins, Declan Collins, Alex Beaty, and Nolan Beaty, and his sister Judy (Jerry) Bell. His love for them was unwavering, and he enjoyed every moment spent with them.
As we bid farewell to William A Thomas (Bill), we remember the lessons, love that he shared, and the laughter he brought into our lives. He will be dearly missed but forever remembered in our hearts. May he find eternal peace in the arms of the angels, as he continues to watch over us with the same love and grace that he showered upon us during his time on Earth.
