William Thomas "Tom" Dirig, 80, passed away on August 21, 2024. Tom was born in Ft. Wayne and attended St. Andrews Catholic Grade School and graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1961. He worked 33 years for the street department of NIPSCO, retiring in 1999. Tom was an avid Notre Dame fan, enjoyed traveling, fishing, hunting, riding his motorcycle and loved his family. He is survived by his son Scott Dirig; brother, Tim (Janet) Dirig; sisters, JoAnn (Terry) Harding and Tammy Gfell; grandchildren, Elizabeth "Grace" Dirig, Erin (Haley) Dirig, Carter Dirig and Ryan " Murphy" Dirig. Tom was preceeded in death by his wife Teresa Dirig; parents, William and Helen Dirig and brother-in-law Richard Gfell. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave, Ft. Wayne. Calling will be 11:00 AM till 2:00 PM the same day at the funeral home.
