Angela Mater Obituary

Angela (Trombetta) Mater, 96, of Fort Wayne, passed away February 13, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 25, 1924 in Monterotondo (RM), Italy, she was the daughter of the late Pietro Trombetta and Angela Collabolletta. A war bride, she moved to the United States in 1947. Angela spent her life as a homemaker and dedicated mother and Nonna to her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her son, John Malay of Fort Wayne; daughter, Lori (Frank) McCutcheon of Fort Wayne and step-son, Joseph (Margie) Mater of O’Fallon, IL. She is also survived by six grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and two sisters, Erminia Trombetta and Pierina Trombetta of Rome, Italy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Zerl Mater; brothers, Antonio Trombetta and Francesco Trombetta; and sister, Candida Trombetta. Private services will be held. Entombment will be in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Allen County S.P.C.A.
