Anthony J. Rottinger, 79, of Fort Wayne died at 2:14 a.m. on October 10, 2021, peacefully in his home with family. He was born on August 14, 1942, in Slavonski-Brod, Yugoslavia. He was the son of the late Anton and Eva Rottinger. He graduated from DeLaSalle Collegiate and Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. In l967, he graduated from U.S. Army Movements Control School at Fort Eustis, Virginia and served as Movements Control Supervisor in Vietnam and South Carolina. He retired from supervision at Michigan Screw Division and Ring Screw Division of Ring Screw Works in Michigan and worked as a supervisor at Key Plastics and part-time at Tippmann Associates as construction supervisor. He is survived by his wife, Cindy; sons, Christopher (Ali) Rottinger, Matthew Rottinger; daughter, Khristina (Alex) Makridakis; grandchildren, Ian Rottinger, Audrey Rottinger, Elena Rottinger, Ada Rottinger, Alex Makridakis, Jr., and Matthew Makridakis of Fort Wayne; sister, Magdalena Neumann of Utica, Michigan; nieces, Ingrid (Roger) Iannucci, Lisa Rottinger of Michigan, Eva (Martin) Weber of Germany; nephews, Norman Schoenek, Neal (Maria) Tedford of Michigan, Hans Jurgen Trott, Werner Trott of Germany; great nieces, Antonia (Michael) Delbeke, Madison (Bryan) Clinton of Michigan, Briana Schoenek of New York, Christine (Marco) Dimmerling, Isabelle (Tillman) Weber, Julia (Torsten) Wittmann, Anna Weber, Natasha Oesterich of Germany; great nephews, Ben Schoenek of New York, Alexander Trott, Phillip Trott of Germany; several great-great nieces and great-great nephews; sister-in-laws, Jan Cappelli, Julie Ehinger, and Lori (Ed) Eykholt. He was preceded in death by son, Brian; brother, John; sisters, Maria Tedford, Rosalia Trott. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am, Saturday, October 16, 2021 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4916 Trier Rd., with calling one hour prior. Visitation also Friday, October 15, 2021, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave. Inurnment will be in Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
