Arlene Baker Obituary

Arlene Marie Baker, 86, of Fort Wayne, died January 14, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family. Arlene was born February 7, 1934 in Detroit, MI. She was the daughter of the late Edward McFarlin and Frances Distelrath. Arlene was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and a member of the choir for over 50 years. She was a woman of faith and deeply loved her family and friends. She set the greatest example of sacrificial love to all who knew her. Arlene had a plethora of interests, mastering many. She loved gardening, but the most important seeds she planted, were those of faith and love, in the hearts of many and will continue to grow and further God's kingdom for generations.  Arlene is survived by her children; Michael (Louisea) Baker of Roanoke, IN, Mark (Suzanne) Baker of Fort Wayne, IN, Matthew (Geneva) Baker of Fort Wayne, IN, Brian (Laura) Baker of Atlanta, GA, Daniel Baker of Indianapolis, IN, Jan (Jim) Cayot of Fort Wayne, IN, Jeanne (Gary) Baker-Dick of Fort Wayne, IN, June (Jim) Hatfield of Fort Wayne, IN, Jackie (Alex Palermo) Wunderlich of Fort Wayne, IN, Jennifer (Matt) Marron of Chicago, IL; 40 grandchildren and 49 great grandchildren; brothers, Daniel Distelrath, Charles McFarlin Timothy McFarlin Tom McFarlin, Jim McFarlin Paul McFarlin; sisters, Mary Ellen Shingleston, Diane Distelrath, Donna Brown, Maria Jorgenson. Arlene was preceded in death by her Husband, Paul Baker, brother Robert Distelrath, sister Joanne Young. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am, Friday, January 22, 2021 at Saint Vincent Catholic Church, 1502 Wallen Rd, with calling one hour prior. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 21, 2021, from 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne, with a vigil and rosary recited at 3:30 pm.
