Betty A. Geary passed away peacefully at home on February 27, 2021 surrounded by family. She was born in Fort Wayne on June 19, 1926, the daughter of the late Adolphus and Lillian Menefee. She attended St. Patrick’s School and graduated from Central Catholic High School. She worked for Tolkiem Corp before marrying Edward P. Geary and raising 4 children. The couple were charter members of Queen of Angels Church, where she was a member of the Rosary Society. She later worked for Sears, McJohn Photo and retired from Phelps Dodge. Always social and outgoing, she enjoyed ice skating at the Reservoir, bowling and organizing bus trips to points of interest. She loved to travel and always enjoyed a good game of euchre and played bridge with several groups around the city.
She is survived by son James (Donna) Geary, daughters Suzanne (Brian) Wilkins, Janet Geary, and Joan (Joseph) Costenero, grandchildren, Christopher Geary, Patrick and Katie Wilkins, and Molly Ferguson, Sarah Reu, Maria and Russel Costenero, four great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband ‘Pat’ after forty-nine years of marriage and three brothers and three sisters and one granddaughter.
Private services will be held at Divine Mercy Funeral Home with burial at the Catholic Cemetery.
