Brian Knipscheer, age 50, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2023. He was born on August 24, 1972, in Worcester, MA and grew up in West Boyleston, MA. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and honorably served his country for four years. After his military service, Brian attended IPFW and earned a bachelor’s degree in business and accounting from Indiana University. On June 22, 1996, he married the love of his life, Catherine (McCarthy). Together, they built a life for themselves in Fort Wayne, keeping busy raising their five children. Brian worked as a CPA for Superior Aluminum Alloys in New Haven for over 10 years. When not working, he immensely enjoyed taking his children camping and skiing. Brian was a Notre Dame football fan and especially liked to watch games with his brothers-in-law. He loved spending time with his children, as he was a devoted father and their number one fan when it came to watching his kids play sports and participate in cheerleading. To say that Brian adored his family would be an understatement, as they were the main focus of his life. Family was everything to him. He enjoyed returning to his hometown of West Boyleston as often as he could to reconnect with beloved family members, keeping the family bonds strong. His strong faith in God was important to him also. Brian was a member of Our Lady of Good Hope and St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Churches. His absence in the lives of those who knew him will be profound. He will be deeply missed by family and friends alike. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 25 years, Catherine Knipscheer; children, Griffin, Louis, Leah, Russell, and Joseph Knipscheer; brother, Freddie Knipscheer; and several nieces and nephews. Brian was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Joy (Castagnetti) Knipscheer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, 7215 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46835 with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN 46805 with a rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. Memorials can be written to Women’s Care Center, Fort Wayne, and the Mary Cross Tippmann Foundation in Brian’s name. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy can be left at www.divinemercyfuneralhome.org for the family.
