Carol G. Cornell

Carol G. Cornell, 77, of Fort Wayne passed away peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 18, 2021. Born on Feb. 23, 1944, in Chicago she was the daughter of Charles and Joan Doty. She met her husband, Lyle, while working at Magnavox in Illinois and relocated with him to Fort Wayne shortly after their marriage. Carol taught theology at Bishop Dwenger H.S. for 30 years. She also had a passion for travel and became a travel agent. She traveled the world and had been to Europe over 100 times. She enjoyed accompanying students on numerous world wide excursions. Carol was beloved in the Dwenger community and known for her generosity and her wickedly wonderful sense of humor. Carol is survived by her brother, Stephen (Susan) Doty, sisters-in-law Donna (Chuck) Gehrt and Carol Haire and numerous cherished nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lyle, and her brother, David Doty. Funeral Mass is 10:30 am Wednesday Dec. 29, 2021 at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, 1502 E Wallen Rd, Fort Wayne with visitation one hour prior. Visitation is also from 3 to 7 pm Tuesday Dec. 28, 2021 with a Rosary service at 3:00pm at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave, Fort Wayne.
