Charles R. Hall Jr., 84, of Fort Wayne, passed away Monday, September 11, 2023 surrounded by his family.
He was born on January 7, 1939 in Richmond to the late Charles R. and Lola Catherine (Florent) Hall Sr.
Charles was a 1956 graduate of Central Catholic High School. Following his graduation, he honorably answered his country’s call and served in the United States Marine Corp.
On August 30, 1958 in Fort Wayne, he married the love of his life, Marilyn Bell.
Charles was a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, coached little league baseball and girls soccer. He was a member of Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, where he served as a Hospitality Minister. In his free time, Charles enjoyed reading, gardening, and being outside.
After more than 49 years, Mr. Hall retired in 2004 from BF Goodrich as a Business Unit Manager, then consulted from 2004 to 2011. He was also a volunteer with Parkview for 14 years.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marilyn; children, Debra Hamilton, Christine (Dennis) Fawcett, Lora (Merle) Connor, James (Christine) Hall and Molly (Nicholas) Smith; sister, Nancy Peters; twelve grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Resurrection will be Friday, September 15, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, 7215 Saint Joe Rd., Fort Wayne with calling one hour before the service. Calling will also be from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, September 14, 2023 with a Rosary beginning at 3:30 p.m. at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne.
Memorials may be directed to Saint Mary’s Soup Kitchen or the Saint Vincent De Paul Society.
