D. Fred Boyle

D. Fred Boyle, 85, of Fort Wayne died December 8, 2021 at Canterbury Nursing and Rehabilitation, Fort Wayne, IN. Fred was born August 5, 1936 in Huntington to the late Edwin J. and Helen L. (Cull) Boyle. He graduated from Huntington Catholic High School in 1954.  Fred was a data processor at Lutheran Health Network for 18 years, retiring in 2006. He also worked for Allen County Data Processing for 11 years, and was a letter press composition printer at Our Sunday Visitor in Huntington for 12 years. He was a member of the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception, where he enjoyed ushering.  He also loved to volunteer at Lutheran Hospital, was a Civil War buff and a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War era.  Fred is survived by two sons, Kevin J. (Peri) Boyle of Huntington, Steven T. (Susan) Boyle, of Auburn; daughter, Erin E. Clark of Fort Wayne; Sister, Susie (Steve) Zimmerman of Fort Wayne; Companion Carol Shattuck of Fort Wayne; 8 Grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.  Fred was preceded in death by 2 sons Michael E. and Chad D. Boyle; brothers, Robert H. and David J. Boyle and son-in-law, David S. Clark.  Funeral Service will be at 2:00pm Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home,  3500 Lake Ave. Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Huntington at a later date.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Fort Wayne Rescue Mission.
