Daniel G. Holom, 87, lifelong Fort Wayne resident, died February 28, 2021, at Parkview Hospital. Dan was born February 19, 1934, and was the son of the late Philip and Elizabeth Holom. He graduated from Central High School and served in the US Navy. He was the District Manager at Plibrico Sales & Service for 40 years and also owned his own business, Holom Industrial Furnace, before retiring in 2003. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and American Legion. Dan loved taking his kids on family vacations, attending at least a million of his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events, and was a father figure to many. Dan is survived by his children: Debra (Christopher) Pieri, Granger, IN; Teresa (Jeff) Holom-Schneier, Kittery, ME; Dana Franke, Fort Wayne; Kathryn (John Sweeney) Holom, Indianapolis; Mark Holom, Austin, TX; Nicholas (Penny) Holom, T or C, NM; Michael Holom, Indianapolis; David Holom, Spring, TX; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters Susan (Doug) Law and Diana Pape; brothers-in-law Jesse Barta and Gerald (Diane) Swinford; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Daniel was preceded in death by his wife Gloria Joan (Swinford) and daughter Nancy Beth; his siblings Philomena Barta, Helen Gochenour, Philip Holom, Jr. and Victoria Benecke. Due to Covid-19, a private service and mass will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
