Daniel "Dan" Kranjc

Daniel (Dan) Kranjc, 98, died Friday April 7, 2023.  Dan was born July 16, 1924, in Ponikve, Slovenia.  He immigrated to Cleveland, OH in 1951 where he met his wife Mimi, also a Slovenian immigrant, at a choir called Korotan.  They were married in 1954 and lived most of their lives in the Cleveland area.  They moved to Fort Wayne in 2014 to be closer to family.  He went to night school for 8 years at Fenn College (now Cleveland State University), graduated in 1960 with a BS in Chemistry, and worked as a Chemist for 30 years.  He was an avid gardener and reader throughout most of his life.  He is survived by his three children Maria (Robert) Gillespie of Fort Wayne IN; Barbara (Brad) Warner of St. Louis MO; Mark (Alma) Kranjc of Aiken SC; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife Mimi and 8 brothers. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00pm on June 3, 2023, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service.
