Dolores J. Ehinger, 94, died peacefully on Mother’s Day, Sunday May 14, 2023, at Lutheran Life Villages, where she went to be with her beloved husband of 72 years, Maurice. She was born March 12, 1929, to the late Albert and Lorraine (Smith) Timme. She graduated from Central Catholic High School where she met her high school sweetheart, Maurice Ehinger, who preceded her in death on April 5, 2020, at the age of 93. She was a homemaker and dedicated wife and grandmother. She also worked for the Rustic Hutch and was a receptionist for The Hair Center S and Panache Hair design. She had a smile for everyone. Dolores and Maurice had lived in the towns of Petoskey, Pellston and Charlevox in Michigan where they had a devoted love of nature and water. Alzheimer’s had robbed her mind, but never her heart, smiles, kisses, humor, spirit, or love. Surviving are sons Gary (Karrie) Ehinger of Albion, Tim Ehinger of London, England, daughters Karen VanCleave of Ft. Wayne, Abigail Ehinger of Ft. Wayne; 11grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren; 3 step great-grandchildren. Dolores was preceded in death by son, Randy Ehinger and daughter Maureen Kearney. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Lutheran Life Villages South Anthony, for their years of care and devotion. Maurice Ehinger died on April 5, 2020, during the height of the Covid 19 pandemic, when the city was shut down, therefore the family will be honoring both Dolores and Maurice’s memory during visitation on Thursday. Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00pm, Friday, May 19, 2023, at Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4916 Trier Rd with calling one hour prior. Visitation also Thursday, May 18, 2023, from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
