Edward Duehmig Obituary

EDWARD WILLIAM DUEHMIG, of Fort Wayne,  passed away Saturday, April 17, 2021, at Hospice Home.  Ed was a kind, gentle man, a great husband and father.  His smile and jokes will be greatly missed. Ed was the son of Henry Duehmig and Rose Kreinbrink Duehmig.  He was born in September of 1936, in Avilla, Ind. Ed graduated from Avilla High School.  He was a fireman in the Air Force and served three years in Germany.  He worked at Dana Corporation as an inventory specialist and retired in 2001 after 46 years. Ed enjoyed collecting model cars, gardening and spending winters in Florida. Edward is survived by his loving wife Rosalyn; daughter, Heidi (David Monsees) Duehmig and Brandi (Arturo) Ochoa; brother, James (Doris, deceased) Duehmig; sisters, Ruth (Patrick) Bauman, Janet (Dennis) Hudecek and June Duehmig; and many special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Joseph (Sharon) Duehmig; and sisters, Dorothy Duehmig and Theresa (Joseph) Dubelko. Memorial service is 1 p.m. Saturday, June 19, 2021, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., with calling from 11:30 a.m. until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Eskenazi Health Foundation, designate to the Sandra Eskenazi Center for Brain Care Innovation, 720 Eskenazi Ave., Fifth Third Bank Building, Indianapolis, IN 46202. Special thanks to Mary Rose and Jack, Barb and Wendall, Kara, Ruth and Pat, Linda, Michelle, Nancy, Pam, the staff at Active Day, Visiting Nurse Hospice and Dr. Christopher Callahan at the Healthy Aging Brain Center.
