Elizabeth Hope Schenkel, 83, of Fort Wayne died unexpectedly of natural cause, November 14, 2021 at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, IN. Elizabeth was born to the late Joseph and Bessie Busse on May 15, 1938 in Covington, KY. She was a graduate of the University of Dayton and a teacher. She was a loving wife, mother and devoted grandmother. Later in life she worked at Pine Valley Country Club. She had a strong devotion to her Catholic faith and was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Elizabeth is survived by daughters, Lisa (Mark) Bradley, Elizabeth (John) Leitz and Lori (Bob) Eddy; sons, William Schenkel, III, and Andrew (Stacy) Schenkel; 22 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; brother, Paul (Patricia) Busse. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her Husband William P. Schenkel II. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:50 am, Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 10700 Aboite Center Rd. Visitation will be held Friday, November 19, 2021, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm with a Rosary at 1:30 pm at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne. Burial will be at the Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Samaritans Purse.
