Emily M Guingrich

EMILY M. GUINGRICH, 82, of Leo, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at her home. Born Aug. 1, 1939 in Paulding, Ohio,  Emily was a daughter of the late Robert and Erma Vanden -broucke. Emily obtained her nursing degree and worked as an LPN at Lutheran Hospital and then for Dr. Felger at his family practice. She finished her career at Redimed and volunteered at the Ambulatory Surgical Center at Dupont Hospital. She and her husband were members of St. Patrick's Catholic Church where they sang in the choir for a number of years. Most recently they were members of St. Vincent's Catholic Church. Emily dearly loved her family and grandchildren, and especially enjoyed her "grandma days," once a week with her grandchildren, spending time playing games and making memories.  Her family was so important to her, she was very instrumental in bringing and keeping her family together. She thoroughly enjoyed planning and taking family vacations with her entire family, even in to the second generation. Emily is survived by her husband of 64 years, Ronald Guingrich; sons, Robert Guingrich, Daniel Guingrich, Steven (Denise) Guingrich, Duane Guingrich ; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.  Emily was also preceded in death by her infant son, Stuart Guingrich; father, Robert H Vandenbroucke, mother, Erma Vandenbroucke; sisters, Mary Hannenkratt and Madeline Sprow. A Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 19, 2022, at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 1502 E. Wallen Road, Fort Wayne (IN 46825), with calling one hour prior. Visitation also from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne (IN 46805), with a Rosary to be held at 4 p.m. Flowers appreciated or memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Masses in Emily's name.  To sign the online guestbook visit www.divinemercyfuneralhome.com
