Eric Glen Downey

Eric Glen Downey born June 3, 1964, died peacefully at home in Fort Wayne, IN on April 2, 2022 at the age of 57. He so loved his wife and 3 children, his family, the Momper family and his dog CC. He was a Ball State graduate and a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. Eric loved his NY Yankees, golf was his passion and he was proud of his hole and one. He listened to Bob and Tom and loved his rock and roll. Fun fact, he also loved the Hallmark movie channel. He was the baby whisperer. He coached his sons in Football and the players had no problem hearing Coach Downey’s voice. He spent most of his career at Momper Insulation.

He is survived by a loving family.  His wife, Jacquie Momper Downey; children, Jennifer (Fort Wayne), Jack (Loveland CO) and Sam (Phoenix AZ); father, Jack Downey (Greenwood IN); siblings, Mark (Susan) Downey (Indy), Carol (Thomas) Kiraly (Granger), Kevin (Barbara) Downey (Fishers), and Kim (Bobbie) Moore (Whiteland). Also surviving are his adored nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lois Downey.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 am, Friday, April 8, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 10700 Aboite Center Rd. Ft. Wayne, IN 46804, with calling one hour prior.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm on Thursday, April 7, 2022 with Rosary at 330 at Divine Mercy Funeral Home 3500 Lake Ave., Ft. Wayne, IN 46805.

Burial at Lindenwood Cemetery, Ft. Wayne, IN followed by a luncheon at St. Elizabeth’s.
