Frances (Harriet) Howey-Bowman-Peterson, 83, of Fort Wayne, passed away May 9, 2021. She was born in Auburn, Indiana and graduated from Garrett High School. In the 1970's she moved to Anaheim California, where she met the love of her life Bill and they both retired from ABF Freight Systems in Compton, CA.
Fran was a member of Moose Lodge Chapter 828 in Bueno Park, CA as well as Garden Grove Moose Lodge Chapter 1117, and formerly Chapter #200 in Fort Wayne, IN.
Fran returned to Fort Wayne in January of 2019 during a blizzard! She often talked of missing her dear friends and the California weather. She enjoyed birdwatching, reading, puzzle games, and hanging out with some of her new found friends at Five Star assisted living, which she had just started referring to as home. Fran and Bill loved children and took a few under their wings throughout their lifetime. She is survived by daughters, Laura Bowman, Paula Wood, Debra (Kent) Rosenbury, and Carla Parks.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Morris and Bernice Howey, former husband Paul L. Bowman and husband 'till death did they part' William (Bill) J. Peterson. Frances was the last of her siblings to pass, sister Doris Reichardt, and Vera Howey, and brothers James (Beverly) Howey, Robert Howey, Harold (Jill) Howey, and Ross Howey. She is survived by Sister-in-law Nancy Howey and Brother-in-law Henry Reichardt. Frances leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, grand children and great grand children.
Memorial to be held at a later date.
