Gordon W. Anthony, 80, of Fort Wayne passed away after an eight month battle from mesothelioma, Sunday, August 28, 2022, surrounded by his family in Fort Wayne. Gordon was born December 9, 1941 in Sedalia, MO, to the late Norman and Mildred (Sweeney) Anthony. He married Rosalyn "Rosie" Walsh, October 22, 1966, whom survives. Gordon was a retired Captain of the Fort Wayne Fire Dept. and one of the first EMT's in Fort Wayne retiring in 1998. He was a member of Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and American Legion Post 381. He served on the USS Charles H. Roan DD-853 during the Vietnam war era in the US Navy.
In addition to his wife, Gordon is survived by three sons, Eric Anthony, Jason (Shara) Anthony, Aaron (Olivia) Anthony; daughter, Mallorie (Austin) Ables; grandchildren Emily Purinton, Jackson and Cooper Anthony and Bentlee Ables; great-grandchildren, Karter, Annalise, Gordon and Adeline; sister, Geraldine 'Geri' Harris and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gordon was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth D. Halbrook.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30am Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4916 Trier Rd with calling one hour prior. Visitation will also be held 4-7pm Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne. Inurnment will be in Catholic Cemetery.
