Helen Hayes

Helen Hayes, 93, of Fort Wayne died December 31, 2020 at Saint Anne Home. Helen was born to the late Francis and Alexandrea Penkul on July 21, 1927 in Fort Wayne. She was a member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church and was a devoted mother and follower of Christ. Helen is survived by three sons, Neil (Pat) Hayes, Jimmy Hayes and William (Ronni Lynn) Hayes; daughter, Rebecca Eder; 10 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, James Hayes; sons, Michael and Mark Hayes; daughter, Dorothy Kinzer; sisters, Jeanette Lahmeyer and Bernette Baldrige; Wanda Stahl and Bernice Bixler, and brother, Chester Penkul. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am, Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Queen of Angels Catholic Church, with calling from 9-10am at Divine Mercy Funeral Home 3500 Lake Ave. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorial contributions may be made to Masses, Queen of Angels Catholic Church, St Anne Home or to the Women's Care Center.
