Huseyin James Aydin

Huseyin James Aydin, loving husband, and father of two children, passed away on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at the age of 37. Huseyin was born on September 1, 1983 in Istanbul, Turkey to Celal and Sevim Aydin. He was a professional soccer player in Turkey, but at age 20 decided to pursue scholastic endeavors and moved to the USA to attend college at the University of Alabama. After university, he assisted his Uncle Zekeriya at their family-owned Turkish restaurant in Lafayette, IN. While living in Lafayette, he put to use his expertise and athleticism as the Head Coach for the Girls Soccer Club at Purdue University. After learning about the restaurant business with his Uncle, he decided to co-own his own establishment at Vienna Coffeehouse and Bakery, on Purdue's campus. At Vienna, he would later meet his wife. After several years in the restaurant business, Huseyin later transitioned to a career in construction, accomplishing additional credentials to become a Concrete Contractor. On May 12, 2018, he married Ashley Nicole Gross. They had two girls, Anastasia Sevim, and Charlotte Azra. Huseyin was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit. No matter where he was, he always wanted to make sure everyone was happy and cared for. Everyone who met Huseyin loved him; you couldn't help but love him the moment you met him. He was hard-working, a dedicated husband and father, and loyal friend. Huseyin was preceded in death by his mother, Sevim. He is survived by his father, Celal, step-mom, Hamiyet, wife Ashley, his two children, Anastasia and Charlotte, his sisters Hediye, Elif, Zeynep, Sude, brother Omer, several cousins, and a nephew. A funeral service will be held at 1 pm, Saturday, July 31st, 2021 at Divine Mercy Funeral Home at 3500 Lake Ave, Fort Wayne, IN.  Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
