Irene Catherine Dotson

Irene Catherine (White) Dotson was born on May 21, 1942, in Fort Wayne, IN to the late Harry and Roberta White. She departed this life on Tuesday May 2, 2023, at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Rene, as she was affectionately known, accepted Christ at a young age. In 1978, Irene joined Kings Chapel Assembly under the leadership of Elder Hobart Gregg. Irene loved coming to church and praising the Lord.

In 1958, Irene married Robert Lymon and from this union were four children, Jaqueline Lymon-Figgs, Barbara Laster, Robert Lymon Jr., and Terry Lymon. In 1974 Irene met and married James Dotson and from this union was one son, Andra Lymon.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband, James Lee Dotson; children, Robert Lymon Jr., Terry Lymon, and Andra Lymon; stepchildren, James Sanders and Wiley Winston; siblings, Willie (Loretta) White, Keith Smith, and Lavon (James) Tabb. Irene has 10 grandchildren, Nicole Lymon, LaTasha Lymon, Latoya Faulkner, Lloyd Laster, Aurelia Laster, Selwyn Lymon, Diamond Lymon, Chloe Lymon, Quinton Lymon, Myles Lymon; 5 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Roberta White; children, Jaqueline Lymon-Figgs, Barbara Laster, and Lee Ester Lymon; stepdaughter, Bernadine Johnson; sister, Jessie Mae Shelton; brother, Harry White Jr.; grandson, Ahkenaton Lymon; and great-granddaughter, Niiami  Lymon-Turner.
