Irene A. (Coppe) Schumaker

Irene A. Schumaker, 91, of Fort Wayne passed away, Tuesday, November 16, 2021.  Born December 14, 1929, in Chicago, IL she was a daughter of the late Louis and Eugenie Coppe.  Irene was a membership secretary at the Summit Club for 15 years, she then worked at the family business, JAT of Fort Wayne Inc., until retirement.  Irene is survived by her husband, James; daughters, Debra (Mike) Ruch of Auburn, Toni (Jim) Thompson of Fort Wayne, and Sue (Greg) Muncy of Fort Wayne; son, Steven DeCarlo of Auburn; stepson, Dennis Schumaker of Marion; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sister, Rachel Bauwens of Glenview, IL. Irene was also preceded in death by her brothers, Daniel and John Coppe; sister, Marion Coppe; and stepson, James E. Schumaker, Jr.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am, Monday, November 22, 2021, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4916 Trier Rd with calling one hour prior. Visitation also 3:00 - 6:00 pm Sunday, November 21, 2021, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., with a Rosary recited at 2:30 pm.
