James Jacquelle Davis Sr.

James Jacquelle Davis Sr., age 32, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023.  Born on June 15, 1990, he was the son of the late Jackie Davis and Aratee (Tanner) Riley, who survives.  James worked in construction as a roofer and was the owner of Davis Do It All in Fort Wayne.  When not working, he enjoyed creating music and teaching his children to appreciate the true beauty in everything.  James was known for his goofy sense of humor and loved making people laugh.  Above all, he loved being a father to his two children. He showed that love most in the time they spent together as a family. James will be deeply missed by his family and friends alike.  Left to cherish his memory are his children, James Davis Jr. and Jayla Davis; mother, Aratee (Junie) Riley; grandparents, James (Joyce) and Janean (Sissy) Tanner; brothers, Antione Pernell and Jaquan Sanders; sisters, Angelica Merriweather and Briana Davis; a host of aunts and uncles, especially his aunt Tana Williams whom he had a special relationship with; and his loving, long-time fiancé, Bobbi Jo Wyatt.  James was preceded in death by his beautiful sister Lois Davis.  A Celebration of Life for James will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN 46805 with visitation one hour prior.  Memorials can be written to the Davis family.  Fond memories and expressions of sympathy can be left at www.divinemercyfuneralhome.org for the family.
