James "Jim" Glenn Falloon, 81, of Roanoke, IN died peacefully, September 14, 2021, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, in Fort Wayne, IN. Born February 6, 1940 in Grimsby, Ontario, Canada, Jim was the first in his family to attend college, graduating from General Motors Institute in Flint, MI. Jim began his successful, engineering career at General Motors Assembly in Oshawa, Ontario where he became Plant Manager. While Jim was a true Canadian at heart, he accepted a transfer to Indiana as the first Plant Manager for the General Motors Fort Wayne Truck Plant. Jim embraced Fort Wayne and made it his home for the rest of his life. After 42 years of dedicated service to General Motors, Jim retired in 2000, as a respected and admired leader in the community.
Jim was an active member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and could be found in the same pew every Sunday with as many of his children and grandchildren as possible. A long time prior member of Orchard Ridge County Club, Jim was a regular with his family at Sunday brunch while also celebrating many holidays, life events and milestones at ORCC with family and dear friends. A kind, gentle and funny man, Jim was well liked by all who were blessed to know him.
Jim devoted his life to loving and providing for his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Jeannette "Jenny" Falloon; children, Karen Falloon, Chris (Sheila) Falloon, Elizabeth (Erik) Wetzel and Brian (Abigail) Falloon. Jim aka Papa, found the greatest joy and happiness in loving his grandchildren, Benjamin Falloon, Maxwell Falloon, Lucas Falloon, Evan Wetzel, Emery Wetzel, Ainsley Falloon, Brea Falloon and Calia Falloon.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 10700 Aboite Center Rd., Fort Wayne, with a calling to be held one hour prior. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 22, 2021, from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne. Family is requesting face coverings for all gatherings. A private family burial will be in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of James G. Falloon to Cancer Services of N E Indiana.
