Jane Loretta Ternet, 96, of New Haven, formerly of Monroeville, passed away just after 1:00 a.m. Saturday, October 3, 2020 at her home. Jane was born September 7, 1924 in Allen County, Indiana to Anthony Frank and Loretta Elizabeth (nee Wyss) Berg. She attended grade school at St. Joe Hessen Cassel and graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1942. Jane married Gerald Frank Ternet on January 15, 1944; they were together over 45 years before he passed away April 30, 1989 at age 66. She was a homemaker, talented seamstress, loved to travel and dance. When she was younger, she helped her husband with farming, their trailer sales and rental business, and enjoyed vacationing in Florida. Surviving are her children, Michael A. (Lennis) Ternet of Warren, Thomas J. (Marna) Ternet of Fort Wayne, Neil A. (Lois) Ternet of Monroeville, Sandra M. (Thomas) Youngblutt and Candace A. (W. David) Bangert, both of New Haven; 18 grandchildren, Tony Ternet and Patty Heilman, both of Fort Wayne; Joey (Amy) Ternet of Woodburn and Rick (Becky) Ternet of Liberty Twp, Oh; Brian (Kim) Ternet and Michelle (Tony) Patrick, both of Fort Wayne, and Adam (Amber) Ternet of Indianapolis; David (Gidget) Ternet of Parker CO, Dennis (Vivian) Ternet of Irvine CA, Melissa (Dave) Dempsey and Trisha Roby, both of Fort Wayne; Amy (Jon) Sorrell and Nick (Jenny) Ternet. both of Monroeville; Booker Youngblutt of Chicago, Jasmine Youngblutt of Fort Wayne and Sienna (Brad) Lohman of Newport Coast, CA; Jeremy (Hiedy) Bangert of Fortville and Jami (Wes) Studer of Simpsonville, SC; and 25 great grandchildren, Alyssa and Tyler Ternet; Alexa, Jake and Sam Patrick; Cameron, and Noah Ternet; Andrew Ternet; Isaac, Hannah, Miles and Harrison Dempsey; Xander and Fancy Roby; Atticus, Iris and Aleta Sorrell; Boston Youngblutt, Jensen, Emerson, and Remington Ridderheim; Jude Lohman; Basey Bangert; Finley and Lennon Studer; and sister, Doris Brager of Fort Wayne. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Gerald "Jerry" Dale Ternet in May 2008 and Terence Lee Ternet in June 2008; grandson, Lon M. Ternet in March 2020; great-granddaughter, Audrey Ternet in April 2006; siblings, Sr. Laverne Berg, P.H.J.C., Ruth Josephine Haag, Marcella Catherine Becker, Lucille Mary Prouty, Maurice William Berg and Muriel Marie Rosswurm. Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at St. John the Baptist, 943 Powers St., New Haven with calling one half hour prior. Face covering required. Visitation also on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Ft. Wayne with vigil service at 6:45 pm. Burial in St. John's Catholic Cemetery, New Haven at a later date. Preferred memorials are to Heartland Hospice or St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Haven.
