Gerald R. Joley, 81, of Fort Wayne, died Thursday April 27, 2023. Jerry was born in Ithaca Michigan on July 27, 1941, the son of (the late) Howard Joley, who died in WWII and Donna (Krepps) Joley Harnick. He was raised by his mother and his stepfather, (the late) Jack Harnick. After graduating from Davison High School in Burton MI, Jerry attended Michigan State University. He married Jean (Kanary) Joley on December 30, 1967. Jerry retired as the Sales Manager for Falstaff Brewing Corp. but returned to school and earned additional degrees from IPFW which allowed him the credentials to pursue his second career as a counselor at Park Center. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, active in Christ Renews His Parish, and was a member of St. Charles Knights of Columbus Council #451. Jerry was an avid fan of Detroit Tigers baseball, and he cherished the time he spent with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Jean Joley and their children, Dan (Cindy) Joley of Hayama, Kanagawa (Japan), Pat (Gretchen) Joley, Matt (Amber) Joley, Katie (John) Otto, David (Samantha) Joley, all of Fort Wayne and Courtney (Chris) Lawhead of Fishers; his brother, Brad (Jackie) Harnick of Swartz Creek MI; 20 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Resurrection 10:30am Tuesday May 9, 2023 in St. Jude Catholic Church, 2155 Randallia Dr. with visitation from 9:30-10:30am in the church.
